The kindergartners did this response to literature a while back and it’s so cute I wanted to share it. It was actually Astrid’s idea, she’s a first grader.
We used painted paper and did our version of Frederick the mouse by Leo Lionni. They are field mice gathering enough food to last through the winter and Frederick didn’t help, he was doing his own “gathering of words” to share during the long cold season. It’s a great story about community.
